== How often should the coffeemaker be cleaned ==
To prolong the life of your coffeemaker, with normal usage, it is recommended to clean the unit once a month

== Cleaning the outside of the unit ==
* Be sure the unit is unplugged and has cooled. 
* Open the cover and remove the filter basket. 
* Discard the paper filter with the coffee grounds. 
* Wash the filter basket, carafe and carafe lid in dishwasher, top rack or wash by hand in hot, sudsy water. 
* Wipe the appliance’s exterior surface, control panel and “Keep Hot” plate with a soft damp cloth. 
* Do not use abrasive cleansers or scouring pads. Never immerse the coffeemaker in water.
