If the unit has no power:

* Ensure the splatter guard is tightly sealed to the glass bowl and the chopper top is properly placed on top of the splatter guard with no debris between the chopper top and the splatter guard.

* Press firmly downward on the button. Enough pressure needs to be placed on the button to engage the safety switch on the bottom of the chopper top. The button must be pushed down with enough force to engage the safety switch. The unit will not turn on if the button is lightly pressed.

* If the chopper still does not power on, ask the consumer if the outlet that the unit is plugged into is a GFCI outlet, with two buttons on it. If so, have the consumer press the reset button.

* If the chopper still does not work, ask the consumer to try another outlet. If the chopper does work after resetting the GFCI, explain the GFCI Troubleshooting below.

* The Glass Bowl Chopper may trip a GFCI outlet when firm pressure is not applied to the button.

* This most often happens when chopping hard foods that cause vibration; this causes the safety switch to rapidly disconnect and connect power and this causes sensitive GFCI outlets to trip.

* This is not a safety issue and causes no damage or stress to the outlet. It is essentially the same as pressing the “Test” button on the outlet.

* The issue can be resolved by applying firm pressure to the button; also ensure the splatter guard is sealed to the bowl, and make sure there is no debris between the splatter guard and the chopper top.
