PowerCrush/FusionBlade Jar Leaking
CSRs should not inform consumers that this is a “known defect”
A quality issue has been found in which the bottom of PowerCrush/FusionBlade jars isn’t milled correctly, allowing for liquid to quickly leak out. This is more of a pour than a leak. If consumers complain that only a dribble of liquid leaks they are likely screwing the collar on wrong. If they complain liquid is pouring out it is likely an improperly milled jar.
To check this please try the following:
- If there is currently any substance in the jar, pour it into another container.
- Disassemble the jar, blade, and collar (and rinse the parts, if necessary).
- Place the jar upside-down on the flat surface; do not attempt to assemble by holding jar in one hand and the collar in another.
- Wet the gasket with a bit of water and place the blade assembly on the jar.
- Place the collar flat on the jar and screw it on; if they detect any resistance do not force the collar, take it off and start over.
- Flip the jar over and pour some water into it.
If the jar was incorrectly milled this will be immediately noticeable due to the rate at which the water leaks out. If this is the case, the CSR may reply “it sounds like there may be an issue with the milled surface on the bottom of your jar. I’ll send you a new jar and that should take care of this issue.”
Only a small percent of jars were incorrectly milled. CSRs should not inform consumers that this is a “known defect”. Applies to all BL1100, BL1200, BL1300, BL1500, and BL1800 series blenders.
