BL5900 Recall Instructions
Date of Recall: March 11, 2005
BL5000/5900/BL6000 - Only the BLADES have been recalled, not the entire unit.
Recall Description:
The recall includes Black & Decker® brand ProBlend® models BL5000, BL5900 and BL6000. The recalled ProBlend® products are 5-speed, 550-watt blenders with 48-ounce marked glass jars. Each model has a die-cast, brushed stainless steel base bearing the name "Black & Decker." The model number is located on the bottom of the product.

Please Note:There are two different BL6000 models. Both models were made at the same factory and Spectrum Informed us that the units also will have the same date code/letter. The newer model will be listed under BL6000 and the older unit is under BL6000-OLD. To determine which unit the consumer has please make sure to ask the consumer for the model and the name brand.
- The new BL6000 will have the name brand SPECTRUM BRANDS, INC on the bottom of the product and the old unit will be labeled as an Applica Consumer Products. Please remember to put this information in your notes.
Customer Care Instructions:
- If a customer calls in and has a blender with this model number and did not register for the blade recall, the Customer Care Specialist will Not refer the customer to the Recall Line
- gather all the customer's information
- select the proper Disposition in the Contact Manager - Recall-Bl5000/5900/6000
- Advise the consumer that they will receive a new blade assembly.
