Recall Description
- The brew baskets on these units may overflow, presenting a burn hazard.
The recalled product is the Black & Decker-branded Spacemaker™ coffeemaker. The product has an under-cabinet mount, programmable digital clock/timer, removable water reservoir, and either a 12-cup glass carafe or an 8-cup thermal carafe. Only model numbers ODC440, ODC440B, ODC450 and ODC460 are included in the recall. The model number can be located on the back of the coffeemaker. This model is on RECALL for date codes 401-912.
Issue with Basket
The date code with the letters is required to register for the recall. If the customer does not have the complete date code, apologize but inform them you must have the entire date code and they will need to call back when they have it.

- Date codes ending in DE must be registered in the contact manager to receive a replacement brew basket
- Follow normal procedures after registration in the Recall Contact Manager
- All other parts may be sold for this unit.
Issue other than the basket
If the consumer has not previously registered and the unit has no power, will not brew, heating plate issue, clock or timer not working, leaking (not from reservoir) treat as an Exchange In/Out of Warranty in the Contact Manager.

Quality Issues
If the consumer has not previously registered, call must be documented per QI Policy.

Product Incident
If the consumer has not previously registered, call must be documented in the Recall Contact Manager. (The Product Incident must still be transferred to a Specialist at the time of the call.)

- Disposition: Transferred to Supervisor
- Add comments. Get a PI specialist to take over the call.
Registered Consumer wants Status
When a consumer registers online a contact is created in the Recall Contact Manger and if needed an order will be placed or a kit will be sent.
- There is a status check button for quick notes. Comments can be added to the note.
