Recall ODC - What Units are Recalled

In regards to your inquiry, the brew basket recall affects only Black & Decker spacemaker models ODC440, ODC440B, and ODC450 & ODC460. If you do not have one of these coffeemakers, you are not affected by the recall.

In cooperation with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission and Canadian Safety Authorities, Spectrum Home Appliances is voluntarily recalling these four coffeemakers. The brew baskets on these coffeemakers may overflow, presenting a burn hazard. Consumers with models ODC440, ODC440B, ODC450 and ODC460 should discontinue using the coffeemaker immediately and register to receive a replacement brew basket.

In order to determine if your unit is part of this recall, we ask that verify the Model Number/Cat Number of your unit. The Model Number/Cat Number is located on the back of the coffeemaker. It may be necessary to remove the unit from its mounting bracket in order to view the Model Number/Cat Number.

In addition, you will also need the manufacturer date code that is stamped into the metal prong at the end of the power cord. This code consists of three numbers and two letters.
