Possible Causes

If the consumer states that there is overflow from the top of the carafe:

  • Lid valve has become stuck due to residue.
  • Lid vent is clogged.

Troubleshooting

  • Soak lid in warm, soapy water for 30 minutes, then rinse and briskly tap bottom of lid against hand 2-5 times to unseat valve.
Ensure lid is washed after each use.
Briskly tap lid on hand 2-5 times after rinsing and before each use.
  • There is a small pin-hole vent to allow air out of the carafe as coffee is poured into it. If this becomes clogged the coffee may not flow into the carafe. The solution is the same as for “Lid valve has become stuck due to residue”.
