Canadian Standards Association is a provider of product testing and certification services for electrical, mechanical, plumbing, gas and a variety of other products. A product bearing the CSA mark tells users it has been tested under a formal process and that the product meets the safety and/or performance standards.

A product may be independently tested by a variety of organizations, including the CSA and/or UL. A product does not have to be tested by the CSA in order to meet Canadian standards, UL is accredited to test products

There are three variations of UL's Listing Mark: one used only in the United States, one used only in Canada and one for both the United States and Canada. The C-UL Mark is applied to products for the Canadian market. The products with this type of Mark have been evaluated to Canadian safety requirements, which may be somewhat different from U.S. safety requirements. The optional C-UL-US Mark indicates compliance with both Canadian and U.S. requirements.
