UL stands for Underwriters Laboratories, an organization that is a world leader in product safety testing and certification. UL Listing means that UL has tested representative samples of the product and determined that it meets UL's requirements.

Please Note: The UL has changed standard UL1082 to clarify their and our position regarding when to unplug appliances.

Old: “Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning.”

New: “Unplug from outlet when either the appliance or display clock is not in use, and before cleaning.”

Why: Our position has always been that when the display clock is programmed the appliance is in use; and therefore it does not need to be unplugged. The language was changed to clarify our position and eliminate consumer uncertainty. The effect of the standard has not changed, the update is only to clarify the position we have held all along.
