Doughnuts in the Airfryer

According to our test kitchen, donuts would turn out great in our air fryer as long as the right kind of dough is used. Traditional donut dough is the consistency of cake batter and is dropped into oil using a dispenser. This type of dough would drip through the air fryer basket and make a mess. Using a thicker dough formulated for baking would work great, though.

The following is a recipe that can be used for Air Fried Doughnuts.

  • 1 can biscuit dough
  • Sugar
  • Cinnamon, Pumpkin Pie Spice, or Apple Pie Spice

Preheat Air Fryer at 350 degrees. Form biscuit dough into rings by either cutting them or hand forming. Sprinkle with sugar and desired spices. Remove frying basket from air fryer and carefully place 3-4 doughnuts in. Return the basket and bake for about 1 ½ minutes – they bake very quickly.
