George Foreman - Discoloration
Block Heater
Discoloration of the aluminum block heater underneath the removable plates is normal. Tiny drops of fat can run off the sides and then under the plate. When the fat comes into contact with the aluminum block heater it immediately burns into a stain because of the high heat. This isn’t a warranty issue because it is considered normal and does not affect the performance of the grill, and because the aluminum block heater is considered a functional part and is not visible under normal circumstances.
Washing Plates in the Dishwasher
- Removable grill plates can be washed in the dishwasher
- If washing grill plates in a dishwasher, wipe uncoated side with a dry towel to prevent discoloration.
- Dishwasher detergent may cause oxidation on uncoated side of the aluminum grill plate. This is not harmful and can be wiped off with a damp towel.
