When using the sear function the consumer must wait for the unit to preheat (approx 8-10 minutes). After the sear button is pressed, the display will flash until it has been fully preheated. When it is time to place the food on the grill, the unit will beep and the display will stop flashing.

Sear Instructions

Pressing “SEAR” will illuminate the red LED and automatically set the highest temperature (500º F) for a duration of time.

  1. For best searing results, make sure the food surface is free of moisture.
  2. Turn on grill and set temperature to 350°F then press SEAR. A red LED will illuminate and the display will flash 500°F while preheating.
  3. When the grill reaches 500°F (approximately 8-10 minutes), the temperature display will stop flashing and an audible “beep” will be heard.
  4. IMMEDIATELY place food on the grill plate and close lid. Meat will sear for 90 seconds then default back to 350°F.
  5. Continue to cook food to the desired doneness. Let meat stand 1-2 minutes before cutting
