Toaster - Bread Jammed
Most breads, pastries, and bagels will fit into the toaster slots; however, very thick items may not. Do not try to force the toast control lever down when items are too thick to toast. Instead, remove the item from the toaster and slice it thinner, or toast the item using a toaster oven.
If Food Becomes Jammed
- Unplug the unit
- Raise and lower the toast control lever to loosen the jammed food
- Never use metal utensils to lift food from the toaster or to free jammed food.
- Never stick a fork or fingers into the toaster slot
- Unplug the toaster and allow to cool, then carefully use rubber or plastic tongs to remove items that cannot otherwise be retrieved.
