Coffee Maker - Showerhead
The shower head or water spreader on a coffeemaker disburses the hot water over the coffee grounds. Hot water is sprayed from the shower head onto the coffee grounds, causing agitation and better flavor extraction. Alternatively, some coffeemakers simply drip onto the coffee grounds.
The following are the different showerhead technologies used in our coffee makers:
Traditional Showerhead
- Water from the reservoir moves through a tube and is heated
- The heated water moves upward to the top of the brew basket and is disbursed through the showerhead/spreader
- This allows the water to evenly distribute over the grounds
EvenStream Showerhead
The EvenStream showerhead technology was introduced in 2014. This is an improved showerhead design that allows:
- Better Distribution Over Coffee Grounds
- Enhanced Turbulence for Maximum Flavor Extraction
- Faster to Optimal Brew Temperature
