Under US FDA guidelines, our slow cookers are classified as large hollowware, for which there is a limit of 1 part per million of lead that can be extracted from the vessel in order for the product to be compliant. When tested by a highly qualified laboratory under accepted methods for the evaluation of lead content, the porcelain liners and glass covers of our slow cookers registered less than 0.1 parts per million of lead extracted. Lead could not be detected in any other part of our slow cookers that were tested. Those findings demonstrate an extractable lead level lower than the limit prescribed by both the US FDA and by California Proposition 65.

Thank you for your inquiry. We take pride in providing quality products for our consumers, and take inquiries regarding product safety concerns seriously.

You have requested information concerning the lead content in our slow cookers. Our slow cookers comply with stringent standards for lead content established by the United States Food and Drug Administration, the regulatory agency responsible for promoting public health and ensuring food safety.

The US FDA has established guidelines for lead that can be extracted from vessels used in the preparation of food. Under those guidelines, our slow cookers are classified as large hollowware, for which there is a limit of 1 part per million of lead that can be extracted in order for the product to be compliant. When tested by a highly qualified laboratory under accepted methods for the evaluation of lead content, the porcelain liners and glass covers of our slow cookers – the parts of the slow cookers that touch food – registered less than 0.1 parts per million of lead extracted. In other parts of our slow cookers that were tested, lead could not be detected. Those findings demonstrate an extractable lead level lower than the limit prescribed by California Proposition 65 as well.

Please let us know if we can answer any further questions you may have. Thank you again for your inquiry and your interest in our slow cookers.
