If the soleplate is not gliding over the fabric:
- Make sure that the soleplate is not scratched - If the soleplate is scratched, it may catch on fabrics
- The iron may be set to a temperature setting which is too high for this type of fabric
- Allow the unit to preheat. For optimum performance, allow the iron to preheat for 90 seconds to allow the thermostat to stabilize and ensure it is set on the proper fabric setting for the type of fabric you are ironing.
- Always read garment care label to determine fabric type to iron and adhere to manufacture recommendations for temperature settings. Depending on the model, your iron might have a fabric guide on the heel rest or on the fabric select dial.
Please Note: Some of the irons have a plastic cling over the sole plate for packaging purposes. Make sure that the cling on the sole plate was removed.
