Toaster Oven - Glass Door Breaking

For Complaints of Broken Toaster Oven Glass:

Any toughened glass such as the glass in our toaster ovens is susceptible to breaking if the glass is damaged, especially at the edges where the tensile strength is greatest, or if the glass is subject to a hard or concentrated impact (such as striking the glass with a point). Toughened glass does not always shatter immediately upon impact; subsequent use of the oven would increase internal stresses due to thermal variances, and the glass can shatter later on. If the glass had indeed been damaged, unfortunately we generally have no means of determining when or by who without additional information. We can assure you that this is a very rare occurrence, even in units which have had years of heavy use.

General Questions or Concerns Regarding Broken Toaster Oven Glass:

We are committed to product safety, and stand behind our products. In the door of our toaster ovens, tempered glass is used for product safety purposes because it breaks into pieces that present limited risk to consumers, not shards that present a different risk. There are many potential causes for tempered glass breaking that do not relate to the quality or inherent safety of the product. We can assure you that this is a very rare occurrence, even in units which have had years of heavy use.
